Coffee break (6) ~Too scary movie for me : "Tesis" (1996)~

fun

Thanks for your visit, this is Naomi.

I will never break the promise between you and me, I will talk about "Tesis", directed by Alejandro Amenábal.

First off, let me explain why I chose this film.

One of my hobbies is watching movies, especially I love suspense, so I often read books to find films that I want to see next.

The way I found "Tesis" was also the same way, I was reading a summary of the story and I was very interested in it - It must be definitely amazing, I thought.

My instinct was right, the movie was well-crafted, awesome, and high-quality suspense.

I'll introduce one of the most suspenseful scene;

The main character(she) finds a suspicious man in their college, (They are students.) and doubts him that he might be a murderer.

She gazes at him secretly from far while a camera plays a role of her eyes.

He seems not to recognize her at all, but once she lost him from sight, and when she looked back behind her, (the camera turned...)

He standed toward her and he was gazing at her directly!!! (and the chase began...)

Whooh, my fear is coming back!!!

But there was a problem inside me, I have two weak genres, horror and violence, and this movie also had those elements!

"Tesis" means 'thesis' in Spanish, but Japanese title has a 2nd title, ”次は私が殺される” , means like "The next victim is me!"

So it was easy to guess that this was horror, but I couldn't win against the appeal that I wanted to see this movie.

As a result, I was full of fear and I couldn't sleep well while my back was facing forward to my room's door for several days.

I felt like someone was standing.

I know I'm stupid, but I like such a character of mine. (Laughing voices)

If you are interested in "Tesis", I highly recommend it to you!

Thank you for reading, have a great Sunday (with Tesis!) Chau!!!
